San Clemente Bulky Item Pickup: Free Hazardous Waste Too

San Clemente bulky item pickup is free four times a year, with four large items or four bags each time. The city also offers something almost nowhere else does, and most residents have never heard of it.

Free Door-to-Door Hazardous Waste Pickup

San Clemente provides free door-to-door household hazardous waste collection, bookable on 877-728-0446.

That is genuinely unusual. In every other Orange County city, paint, solvents, pesticides and motor oil mean loading your car and driving to a county collection center. Here somebody comes to you, at no charge.

So if you have been storing half-used paint cans in a garage because the trip felt like a hassle, this solves it. Use it before it turns into a garage cleanout.

What the Bulky Program Covers

Four free collections a year through the city CR&R contract. Each one takes up to four large items, or alternatively up to four bags, on your normal collection day.

Four items is a modest cap. A bedroom set will generally use the whole appointment, so plan by room rather than by impulse.

What Is Not Accepted

Construction and demolition debris falls outside the program, which rules out remodel material, drywall, tile and lumber.

For anything hazardous, use the door-to-door service above rather than the bulky program. OC Waste and Recycling also lists the county drop-off centers if you would rather go yourself.

The Real Obstacle Is the Terrain

San Clemente is built on hills that run down to the water, and that shapes every removal job here.

Homes on the ocean side frequently sit below street level, reached by a flight of outdoor stairs. Others stack living space above a garage on a sloped lot. Meanwhile, street parking near the pier and the older neighborhoods is tight.

The program collects from the curb. Therefore, the four-item cap is rarely what stops people. The stairs are.

How to Book

Call CR&R to schedule and list your items, since crews work from the ticket they are given.

Then set everything out the night before your collection day, clear of your carts.

What We Remove in San Clemente

Our San Clemente crews cover furniture removal, appliance removal, garage cleanouts, home cleanouts, hot tub removal, mattress removal and hoarder cleanouts. Same-day and next-day appointments run seven days a week.

When Four Items Is Not Enough

Three situations break it.

Cleanouts. A garage, an estate or a move-out is dozens of items on one date. Sixteen items a year cannot cover that.

Stairs and weight. A hot tub on a deck, a piano, or a sectional up an outdoor staircase is not a two-person job.

Deadlines. Escrow closings and vacation-rental turnovers do not wait for a collection day.

That is where we come in. Our crews handle junk removal in San Clemente seven days a week, usually same day or next day, and we do the stairs.

Use your four pickups and definitely use the hazardous waste service. Call us for the heavy work.
